Problem Statment

In a recent conversation, my friend, an art enthusiast and buyer, shared her frustration about not having a single platform to access a diverse range of art, traditional to modern pieces. She wanted an easy way to explore and discover artworks without the hassle of browsing through multiple websites or apps. Additionally, she wished for the option to personalize art pieces according to her preferences, and she expressed a desire for easy access to regional products and artist/shop profiles for direct purchase.

Pointers

1. Art enthusiasts struggle to find a single platform with a wide range of artworks, spanning traditional to modern styles.

2. Limited customization options leave buyers with fewer choices and less satisfaction.

3. Users can't easily explore and buy art from different states and regions.

4. An "Artist" section would allow to find artworks easily.

Problem Solution

1. Including a diverse range of art, from cultural to modern, while rediscovering long-lost Cultural Art.

2. Introducing Product Customization, enabling users to request personalized artwork and Wholesale purchases.

3. Introducing a "State" section for users to explore and purchase art from different regions.

4. Introducing a "Artist" section for users to look for the artworks directly under the artists profile.

Added Features

1. Notifying users about local exhibitions and stalls to explore artworks in person held by the artists under "Updates" section.

2. Introducing an "Explore" section, showcasing museums, galleries, and historical sites to engage visitors.

3. Educating users about Indian artists and their work through daily notifications featuring artist biographies and their artworks.

Target Audience

The target audience for this survey is female travelers, including women traveling alone, in groups, or with children on trains, focusing on their safety and comfort preferences. The survey is aimed at women aged 18-50.

Understanding The Problem

As I began working on this project, I first wanted to understand the problem better so that it can be easier to empathize with users and sellers. I started with the research, searching through the web to get an overall understanding of the problems currently existing in the market. Below are some insights that I found. Based on the data from google search.

Competitive Analysis

I began by identifying existing platforms with diverse user bases like Etsy, The Indian Craft House, AuthIndia, and Craftsvilla.

Understanding the users

After secondary research, I further wanted to get a deeper understanding of the problems faced by the people (user needs and behaviours). I wanted to talk directly with the users, so I conducted an informal interview with some of the people interested in art.

Questions:

Do you like purchasing Art & craft artefacts?

Are you the kind of person who prefers purchasing things Online or prefers visiting local markets?

In Arts & Craft what kind of art do you like Traditional Indian Art or Modernised Art? And Why?

What were the challenges that you faced while using the art applications and how did that make you feel?

Is there a way in which you feel these challenges could be resolved?

If you love Arts & Crafts, buying, selling, and creating art, would you enjoy a platform that makes it easy? It offers a wide range, from Cultural to Modern art forms in India.

Feedback

The sign in & sign up screen feels empty, add some vectors

or images to make it look more creative.

The app's design is visually appealing making my journey

enjoyable.

Feedback

The UI is very Beautiful. The tab for art galleries and museums

is a wonderful addition.

It would've been better if the app started with art vectors

or images.

Feedback

The categories Art, Artist, and State makes navigation easy,

helping me find what I'm interested in.

I was excited about the 'Artists' section, but I wish there was

more interaction with the artists. Perhaps a chat feature.

with unnecessary elements, making the app feel clean

The app's visually appealing design and consistent UI make my journey enjoyable.

Learnings & Takeaways

Embrace the Journey

Avoid waiting for the perfect solution. Start with the initial idea and keep iterating until it becomes better.

There can be multiple ways of implementing a feature or even designing a simple screen. But trying to think from user’s perspective makes it

really easy to select the best possible way.

Lastly, there is no such thing as Final iteration. Work is always in progress!
